Always the one reaching for the rope? The Knot Nerd Skill Badge is for those who know their bends from their hitches and enjoy knowing exactly which knot will do the job.
To earn your Knot Nerd Skill Badge:
- Be able to tie ten different knots without assistance.
- Your ten must include a Reef Knot, Sheet Bend, Clove Hitch, Bowline, Round Turn and Two Half Hitches, Sheepshank and Highwayman’s Hitch.
- Choose the remaining three knots yourself.
- Know what each of your ten knots is used for and when it would be appropriate.
- Use at least three of your knots practically during a Scout activity or adventure
