Mental Health Awareness Badge

To gain this badge you must do the following:

• Learn and understand what is mental health and how it can affect you and others
• Try out 2/3 different activities that might promote positive mental well-being from the five topics below:
  • Connect – talk to someone, five minutes to chat to someone
  • Be Active – exercise, warrior yoga
  • Take Notice – get a plant, clear the clutter day, take a different route, visit a new place, meditate, positive portrait, unworry island, worry monster
  • Learn – read a new book, crossword, sudoku, learn something new, look at old photos and memories (Scout Jar)
  • Give – act of kindness (positive postcards / cheer-up card)
• Show some helpful ways to support others when they’re struggling and how to reduce toxic positivity and negativity bias
• Discuss two or three of the different Mental Health charities and why they’re useful:
  • Mind
  • CALM
  • Young Minds
  • Papyrus
  • Anna Freud
  • ayph

Not all activities and topics will help everyone’s mental well-being. Keep in mind we’re all different, if it’s not working for you, try one of the other activities instead.
